On Wednesday afternoon tragedy struck when a Chester County ambulance collided with a car off Highway 97 near Great Falls, South Carolina.
The ambulance was responding to a call when witnesses say it swerved off the road, over-corrected and then crossed over the center line and hit the car head on.
Everyone in both vehicles was wearing their seat belts.
According to officials the two paramedics in the ambulance were taken to the hospital and are ok.
However, there were four people in the car: a husband and wife, along with their two children.
The 29-year-old husband was pronounced dead on scene.
The wife and children were all injured and taken to the hospital. The children are still in the hospital at this time.
